How to pick my cake flavor?
Start by considering the occasion. If you are looking for the best cake flavors for weddings, lemon, chocolate, and vanilla are common choices. Chocolate is also a popular choice for birthdays. Also factor in the season. Our autumn spice is a great choice for a fall wedding whereas coconut or mango could be a better choice for a summer party. Personality is a big factor in cake flavor choices. You could select unique flavors like Earl Grey, Sake, or even pine to wow your guests. If it’s difficult to choose one flavor, you can alternate between tiers.
Make sure to match the filling with the cake flavor. Vanilla bean buttercream pairs well with almost anything, caramel complements a chocolate cake, and coffee ganache goes perfectly with almond cake. Still unsure? We are here to help. Give us a call at 716.545.6885.
What can I do to make the process more efficient?
Start by sharing as much information about the occasion as possible from the beginning of the process. This includes the theme, number of guests, venue, and color scheme. Also, provide pictures of dress details, decor, invitations, etc. The information you provide informs our design process and helps us understand the style you prefer. Also, don’t hesitate to ask questions throughout the process.
Do you offer desserts other than cakes?
No, we only offer layered custom cakes.
Can you help me if I have a limited budget and am unsure if I can afford the cake I want?
Don’t worry. Just let us know your budget upfront, and we will do our best to work something out accordingly. Discussing the budget at the beginning helps us tailor our sketches and ideas to create an affordable custom wedding cake or other occasion cake that fits your needs.
Is everything made from scratch?
Yes. All our cakes, fillings, and frostings are made from scratch using the freshest ingredients.
Do you have a shop?
Our Sweet Dream 716, Buffalo custom cake studio does not have a physical location, However, you can visit us at our related establishment, Antoinette’s Sweets located at 5981 Transit Rd, Depew, NY 14043, United States.
How will having an outdoor reception affect my cake choices?
When considering outdoor wedding cake options, it’s important to factor in heat, humidity and wind conditions. Therefore, it’s crucial to think about how to protect the cake and to keep it clean and presentable.
Regardless of your frosting and filling choices, we recommend not to let the cake sit out in the heat for too long. To maintain its quality, keep the cake in an air-conditioned area and only bring it out when it’s time to cut it.
Do you only create wedding cakes?
In addition to wedding cakes, we design and create special occasion cakes, holiday cakes, as well as cakes for kids. You can also place custom cake orders with Sweet Dreams 716, in Buffalo for any event. Head over to our Gallery to check out the cakes we have created for our clients.
Can someone else pick up my order?
We have a mandatory delivery policy for cakes over 5” high. However, for smaller cakes, our cake order pickup policy allows pickup by another person as long as they have the correct order details.
Do you only offer deliveries in Buffalo? Or are you open to travel?
While we primarily offer wedding and special occasion cake deliveries in Buffalo, we do offer on-location services. Once you provide all the necessary contact details, we can discuss arrangements for travel and delivery.
What methods of payment do you accept?
Our accepted payment methods are cash, cheque, and credit cards.
Do you have a sugarless option?
At this time, we do not offer sugar-free wedding or other occasion cakes at Sweet Dreams 716, Buffalo.
Can I design my own cake?
Of course! If you have a sketch, please send it to us, and we will discuss the feasibility of creating the cake. Along with the design, be sure to include information such as the theme, color scheme, pictures of decor, dress details, and invitations. This will help us match the customizations to your event.
Do you create personalized photo cakes?
No, we do not create personalized photo cakes.
I saw a wedding cake in a magazine that I love. Can you create a similar cake for my wedding?
We understand that inspiration can come from anywhere. However, we do not replicate cakes by other designers or repeat our own designs because we believe a cake should be unique to each event. Can you add fresh flowers directly to my cake?
Unfortunately, we cannot add fresh flowers to your wedding or other occasion cake due to food safety concerns. We only use edible decorations as cake toppings. You can place fresh flowers around the cake or on the cake table.
Can we have more than one flavor of cake, or does it all have to be the same?
It depends on the number of tiers of your cake. If you’re looking for a cake with more than one tier, you can certainly enjoy multiple cake flavors by choosing different flavors for each tier. Just ensure the flavors complement each other well.
Can I change my order?
We understand that preferences may change. You can modify your wedding cake order or other occasion cake order before you sign the contract, which happens after finalizing the cake design and flavor. We cannot allow cake modifications after this time because cake review and prep begin within this time frame.
What are your order minimums?
12 servings is our minimum order size for custom cakes.
Is there a fee for the cake tasting and consultation?
There is a $75 charge for cake tasting. If your cake is more than $1,000 the cost of the cake tasting will be deducted from the cost of the cake.
How do I start cake ordering process?
Starting the cake ordering process with Sweet Dream 716 is easy. The first step is to call 716.545.6885 or fill out the contact form. We will schedule a free initial consultation with you to present our list of cake flavors and pricing. Once you confirm, we will move on to the cake tasting step. Here, you (and up to 1 guest) will be invited to taste a maximum of 3 cake flavors and 6 cake fillings of your choice. Please note, our cake tasting service is only available for cakes with 50+ servings.
Do you make gluten free of vegan cakes?
At this time we do not use gluten-free flour, or butter/egg alternatives in any of our cakes.
What is your cancellation policy?
The 50% deposit is NON-REFUNDABLE. If you have paid any amount over 50% deposit and cancel more than 14 days before the event, you will get a partial refund as per our cake order cancellation policy. Any cake orders canceled less than 14 days prior to the event date will receive NO refunds on any payments made after the deposit.
Are your cake decorations edible?
All cake decorations are edible, except for some elements used for structural support (wooden dowels, plastic straws, floral wire, etc). Materials used for non-edible elements meet the standards of food safety.
How many cake orders do you take per week?
At Sweet Dream 716, we take cake orders only for 250 servings per week. It could be just one wedding cake for 250 guests or 3-5 smaller cakes. This weekly cake order limit has been set to ensure your cake has as much of personal attention as possible.
How do you price the cake?
Prices are based on the type of cake, filling, frosting and flavors and the complexity of design, structure and toppers. For detailed wedding cake or other occasion cake pricing at Sweet Dreams 716, Buffalo, please contact us to discuss your specific needs.
Do you deliver?
As per our policy at Sweet Dreams 716, Buffalo, cake delivery is mandatory for cakes over 5” high and starts at $30. Delivery and handling fee is based on mileage and number of tiers and will be made known to you during the consultation.
Is a deposit required when placing an order?
50% of the total cost is required as a deposit to secure the date as per our cake order deposit policy. The order must be paid in full 28 days before the event date for cakes with 30+ servings, and 14 days before the event date for cakes with 30 servings or less

When should I place my order?
The earlier the better. We suggest the following cake ordering timeline depending on the number of servings (cake size): at least 6 months prior to the event date for cakes with 100+ servings, at least 4 months for cakes with 50-100 servings, and 2 months for cakes under 50 servings. For a cake on shorter notice, please call to discuss your options. We do our best to accommodate last-minute orders but cannot guarantee availability.
